Toolset has announced today that Version 2.2 of their WordPress plugin adds Beaver Builder integration via simple content templates.

This new version of the plugin brings a whole lot of power to designers using Toolset and Beaver Builder, combining both plugins into a powerful design suite that extends the usage of standard Beaver Builder templates. Toolset recently announced a similar integration with Visual Composer and this new update brings the same great features for Beaver Builder users.

Using the plugin

Check out this video from Diane Laidlaw – Diane published this video recently using the beta version of the Toolset plugin and shows just how powerful this new update is for Beaver Builder users.

  1. Yes, Toolset is nice for using CPT/CF as a way to build a complete CMS within WordPress. However, Toolset consists of various plugins, among them Types to create CPT/CF’s and Views to display them. Types is a free basic plugin. Views is part of the paid complete Toolset.

Making toolset connect to BeaverBuilder plugin is very smart. But in my opinion only a connection to Types would be needed. The ‘view’ part can be done in Beaver Builder by using ‘field-shortcodes’. However (correct me if I am wrong) because of their businessmodel, they connected Types and Views together to let the combination work with Beaver Builder.

But Views was developed long before pagebuilders and was actually a way to build pagelayouts based on CPT/CF’s. Views would not be needed for that creative purpose and I don’t see Views do actually anything for this purpose.

I can’t wait to see BB 2.0 with the Advanced Custom Fields (pro) integrations. That seems a more straightforward soltion to me, without any commercial ‘work around’.

    1. Thanks, Peter – yeah, ACF fields integration is one of the most interesting upcoming additions to the BB plugin for me. Will definitely make things a whole lot simpler.
